Winds of Change

E-mail address

I was reading a great story on the site of the Good News Network about a small town of 1300 people called Roscoe, Texas. Things were looking quite bleak but one man, together with support of others in the town, took action and was able to get a large company on board to set up windmills in the area. Now many of the farmers who were earning very little income are able to supplement their income in a very large way since they are paid by the company for allowing them to place windmills on their property. Each windmill earns them 10-15,000 per year. Not bad considering most are getting 6-10 put on their farmland.

This really shows how people can unite and make things happen. For more information you can click here and read, see, and hear all about it.

Consistency

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

Please take a look at any of my previous posts. I’ve referenced many different things that can improve your life. Imagine the power if you just followed through consistently on any one of these things? It would be pretty powerful wouldn’t it? Exactly.

Many people, myself included, have looked at various other people and said things like “it must be nice to have the opportunities they had” or “yeah it works for them but they’re very lucky” etc. I think you get the idea. Many people look at others and explain away why they are successful. The fact is though that many people have not been that “lucky” or been “spoon fed;” yet some of these people are the most successful people in the world.

What’s their secret?

They take action. Consistently.

They don’t sit around criticizing other people or procrastinating. They take action as soon as they get an idea. They aren’t immobilized. Naturally over time they manifest success. It’s not even that amazing when you think about it.

Yet many of us fail to take the simple steps necessary for success.

If you want success in any area, try this simple suggestion:

Think about something you want to accomplish. Next just consider if you took simple action towards this goal each and every day and how long would it take before you start to see some results in your life? Probably not that long. Many of us start to take action towards the things we desire; that’s not the problem. The problem is we allow ourselves to get distracted along the way.

Do yourself one favour and take the following 30 day challenge.

Think of something you want to accomplish. Think about some initial steps you can take to get yourself started. Next take action consistently for 30 days. I think you will be amazed by the results. You will gain momentum and will succeed. It’s not that amazing but it can produce very satisfying results in your life.

The power of smells

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

We recently had friends from Ireland visiting us who gave us a pulse balm from a company called Molton Brown London

The product smelled nice. It made me feel relaxed. I slept better.

It started me on a mission (well sort of)

I started sampling some cologne and I found one that I liked. And it really made me think about something.

If smells give you pleasure then it’s is a good idea to bring them into your life.

Because feeling pleasure means you are feeling good

Which means all of your bodily functions are working better and your overall health – physically, mentally and spiritually – is optimized.

There is an abundance of literature on aromatherapy, for instance. Basically smells are very powerful; they can help with migraines, and mood, many other conditions and your overall health.

What a great way to have optimum awareness?

Bottom line: If you can be aware of what smells you like and in turn bring more of them into your life, you can improve your life in countless ways. What a simple and enjoyable way to do so.

Smell ya later.
